We are LoftZone Certified Loft Boarding Installers who Operate Throughout Northampton, Northamptonshire and all surrounding areas. Loft Boarding Midlands Have Transformed 100’s of unusable Insulated Loft Spaces in New Build and Older properties Into Clean, Versatile Storage Spaces by installing the ONLY Construction Certified Raised Loft Boarding System in the UK designed to work effectively where insulation levels are in excess of 300mm,and to create valuable extra storage space without compromising the Energy Efficiency of a fully insulated loft.
The Importance of Maintaining an Air-Flow in Your Loft Space:
An important consideration when installing loft boarding is to ensure that the loft space and loft insulation combined can “breathe”, interstitial condensation will very quickly manifest itself if the air-flow is restricted causing damp issues and further ongoing problems, this consideration has been very well thought out when designing the LoftZone system, as its elevated position coupled with a fully vented framework will not compromised the air-flow within your loft, this is particularly important in Brand New Build properties as the moisture content within the building fabric will be considerably higher than that of an older property.
BBA Certified LoftZone Loft Boarding – The System:
The UNIQUE design of LoftZone Raised Loft Boarding means that common obstacles that are found in lofts can be easily overcome, bridging over cabling, pipe work, and down lights is not a problem, alternative loft boarding options may mean sinking wires into the joist affecting their structural integrity.
LoftZone Loft Boarding is modular, very strong and very light in weight, it is a raised loft flooring system designed to provide sufficient space for insulation materials. The system comprises lightweight galvanized steel Cross-Beams and plastic support brackets, which are manufactured from nylon or polypropylene and are 279 mm in height.
Most new houses have truss roofs and the British Standard says that the joists must be able to carry a permanent load of at least 25kg per square metre (e.g. for storage) plus a temporary load of 180kg (assumed to be one person walking around). Every new house has to be built at least to this minimum legal standard, though many can in fact accommodate much more storage.
Construction Certification – BBA Certified:
The British Board of Agrement (BBA) is the industry standard body for assuring the quality and safety of construction products in the UK. Agrément Certificates are one of the only ways that a manufacturer’s new product or system can gain quick acceptance in the market place. Only products and systems that have passed a series of comprehensive assessments – including laboratory tests, on-site evaluations, quality management checks and inspections of production are awarded an Agrément Certificate. Products that receive Agrément Certificates are recognised by building control, government departments, architects, specifiers and industry insurers. It’s a mark of quality, safety and reliability that provides reassurance of the product’s fitness-for-purpose.
